Routines (Personal)

Many elite-level athletes use some kind of routines, either before, during, or after their matches. Think about LeBron’s chalk, Rafael Nadal’s serve, or Ronaldo’s free kick stance. Routines can serve many functions, including providing information about the environment, focusing attention, or getting hyped up for a match. In order to build both effective individual and team routines, athletes need to establish the desired outcome and link functional thoughts and actions to this outcome. During the sessions, athletes will assess these factors, build and practice routines, and reflect on their progress. The mental performance consultant will help by supporting the process and providing theory and critical feedback.
